How You Can Help

The Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation needs:

  • Keep the Archie’s Barbershop jams going.

  • Continue our educational and outreach programs, and

  • Prepare traveling displays of artifacts for presentation at schools, libraries, museums , and other appropriate venues.

  • There are several ways you can help ensure the future of Archie’s Barbershop and help expand our activities and programs.

Donations .  Contributions from individuals are the lifeblood of AEBHF. We operate on a shoestring, but resources are always tight.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us keep the doors open.  The Donations link has several convenient ways you can send a financial contribution to AEBHF. We are also a participant to the AmazonSmile. If you shop Amazon Online and if you sign up for the AmazonSmile program AND if you go to the AmazonSmile Link to start your shopping session, Amazon will donate to AEBHF 1/2% of the price of most items. BarberSHOP .  Your purchase of CDs, hand-carved “bones,’ and other merchandise helps support AEBHF.

Volunteers .  We are always in need of volunteers to help with fundraising, planning events, communications, and more. Please indicate your interests and any special skills or services you can offer on the Subscribe form.

Barbershop “Ensemble” You can hire talented performers from the Barbershop to play acoustic blues at parties, dinners, and other events -– and support the Barbershop too.  Please contact us if you would like to discuss bringing the“Ensemble” to your event or to host a benefit house concert.

Grants.  We hope our educational programs and activities will attract additional financial assistance from grant-making organizations.  Please contact us if you have suggestions for potential funding sources or contacts or can otherwise help with the application process.

Corporate Sponsors.  The Foundation is promoting and preserving a unique part of the African-American culture and history of Washington, DC and traditional blues music. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a possible corporate sponsorship, or have suggestions for potential sponsors.
